Meme task from [info]dzioo and such a good excuse for me to talk.

Comment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given. (You may also comment without committing to doing something of your own, I'm nice today.)

Ramblings on Cagalli, politics, fanfiction, shadow, and shyness )

Why do my ramblings always turn out feeling so dull and serious compared to others when they do this? Oh well, I suppose it's a personality thing...

Somewhat bored. So what's better than letting my brain in free gear. Meme taken from [info]schrogwr2. Very random first-that-popped-into-my-mind answers. See it as a free glimpse of how my mind works. Or not works.

Testing myself on request from [info]spherehunter.

ISTJ - "Trustee". Decisiveness in practical affairs. Guardian of time- honored institutions. Dependable. 11.6% of total population.
Free Jung Personality Test (similar to Myers-Briggs/MBTI)

And after reading some more details here and here I'm almost amazed over how much that fits. It's scaringly accurate it seems. But when reading it I can't help but like me a lot!

EDIT: After checking my archives it seems I actually did the test - or a very similar one - some four and a half year ago too. The result back then was the same, so I guess it's officially my personality type then.

2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.

Once upon a time, back in the days when having a video recorder was a novelty for me, I taped this movie that I thought I should see some day. The movie in question was Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and, well, now I've actually watched it in full. Some parts of it I glanced back when it was more fresh, but never the whole movie. What makes this somewhat spectacular even for me, is the fact that I taped it in 1988. Which means it's been on my "to watch"-list for two decades... I know, I'm hopeless. But to my defence this was extreme even for being me. Of course, being me, I know that the movie in question hadn't been in my taste at all at that age, so maybe it was some sort of unconscious self-protection involved. (Not so surprising the quality of a VHS tape kind of deteriorates over time, so I had to obtain a newer copy to actually watch it somewhat comfortably, but that's not the point here.)

As for the actual movie, it was about as bad as the impression I had got from the earlier glimpses and statements, so not having seen that one until now wasn't much of a loss in that aspect. I still much prefer the other two. Those are good, easy entertainment, and I really hope the new one will follow in the footsteps of those two.

Anyway I'm still bored, so it's quiz results time again. (Or more exactly, PC maintenance made me find some old ones lying around and since I haven't anything else to talk about I put them here). Mostly grabbed from [info]maaya1x2 I think.

Cut for pointlessness )

Because [info]dzioo had it, and it was too tempting not to bite. I still can't make up my mind about how the sometimes somewhat extensive lack of knowledge from my side should be interpreted. Good or a bad thing? (It could, of course, also be seen as lucky (for me) that the selection of titles here seem to be somewhat odd...)

And to improve my standing a little at least, I let the Escaflowne one stay on too. It was after all there when I first started to write my answers on the version nicked from Dzioo ;P

People who still use IE6 shouldn't be allowed to use the net. But apparently around 30 percent of the ordinary net surfers still are; forcing poor, tired web developers to spend hours trying to make things look at least somewhat decent. (Fanfic-writing fangirls on the other hand - and to the lesser extent that fanboys exist they too I suppose - seem to be more computer literate with only 6 percent using the browser from hell. They also are almost double as likely to use macs as the more generic crowds. Oh the things you can learn from site logs.)

And why does the main web advertising bureaus have to be American and pay their associates in the currently soft and not very almighty US dollar? That's the last thing I need right now.

It's been grey and icky for days, not exactly helping my mood even if today the sun finally for a while succeeded to demonstrate that it still exists somewhere behind the clouds or under the horizon. And on top of that my sis succeeded in making me depressed without her knowing it. All in all, yesterday wasn't really the best of days.

Quiztime again )

Some randomness again, since there's not much of interest to talk about and I'm bored.

My childhood best friend has been nagging me the last weeks to start playing World of Warcraft and I'm, well, hesitant. Mainly because I'm not all that fond of games having monthly fees, but also due to the fact that my interest in playing computer games seem to have dwindled the last years (true, that's probably partially because said best friend who was the usual one I played with moved away, playing games alone isn't all that fun, and online gaming isn't really the same). But at the same time it would be a good way to raise our level of interaction a little. (Lowering it any more is barely possible anyway. I still don't know for sure if it should be blamed on my usual bad communication skills or just on it being the typical communicative level between two Swedish males.) So I guess I'll see what I do. This far, the whole thing sort of falls on the fact that my HD is more or less full, even without a large online game client.

And as bonus, an old quiz result:

While technically most likely correct in its description, it's still a somewhat odd result for someone who in no-disturbance mode has a brain that prefers to wake up around 8.30-9.00. Then again, early mornings are kind of nice, once I've passed the swearing over the wake-up part. And if it's in the time of year when you actually can wake up early and still be greeted by daylight that is.

It's multiple election day again and I'm bored, which means political webtests time again.

Warning. Political pic spam behind this link. Well, sort of, at least. )

Trying to read Icelandic is weirdly fun. Like reading a latin letter up-to-date version of runestone writing. It's also probably the only language where the "if it's hard to understand, try read it out aloud" advice actually works.

This actually has nothing to do with anything. I'm just bored, procrastinating, and misses summer after only four days with more autumn weather. Thus, I make random posts just to terrorize my surroundings a little.

And speaking of bored...
