Yay, it's another election coming up! (Hey, bear with me, I'm Swedish. Having the opportunity to participate in elections outside September every fourth year is still a novelty for me.) Which means funny test results for the shameless election geek that I am. And yes, [info]nighteevee, I've already used my voting privilege, so don't worry. Although had I known it would be possible to actually vote in advance at my uni this last week, I wouldn't have had to walk through half the town to the library voting station the week before. Oh well.

My political views according to the computers in some selected countries. Such as the ones where I can actually understand the questions asked. )

On a different, but actually somewhat similar topic, an excerpt of a morning conversation:
Me to my dad: "Is it some kind of holiday today since you don't get any morning newspaper?"
Dad: "Yes, it's Sweden's national day."
Me: "Oh..."

I know it is the D-day anniversary, and I know it is EU election day tomorrow. But remembering my own country's national day... Why should I do that?

Meme task from [info]dzioo and such a good excuse for me to talk.

Comment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given. (You may also comment without committing to doing something of your own, I'm nice today.)

Ramblings on Cagalli, politics, fanfiction, shadow, and shyness )

Why do my ramblings always turn out feeling so dull and serious compared to others when they do this? Oh well, I suppose it's a personality thing...

I'm actually kind of surprised how busy my autumn has been this far. Oh well, I suppose I at least shouldn't complain about that. (Of course, it had been better if my current busy-ness (business? So that's where the word comes from...) had had more to do with income generation and less with studies... But I guess you can't get everything.) It could also be better if my soon to be two week old cold had decided to stop tormenting my respiratory system soon. But that's nothing unusual either.

And, since it's election times again (no, not ours but that omnipresent country on the other side of the Atlantic), I should present the test result from the link presented by [info]maaya1x2 a now long time ago.

What else? )

Because the headline caught my eye by succeeding in having that humourous cynical wit I so love.

Call me a liberal, a leftist, or even an anti-capitalist if you want - for once I don't mind -, but this doesn't really has anything to do with any of that; my total approval of this editorial is entirely based on - what do they call it - oh yes, common sense. Or fundamental ethical principles, maybe.

Plus, it has Michael Eisner's name in it.

Oh my god! My not exactly tech-savvy parents and their elderly neighbour discussed and had an opinion on the FRA law! I'm shocked, sort of.

Info note for the non-Swedes: The FRA law is a new law proposal giving the military intelligence the power to listen in on communications to and from Sweden going in cables (and not like earlier only the over the air radio transmitted ones), "accidentally" in the same time giving very much the same powers to wiretap Swedish-to-Swedish communications due to the nature of how internet and other modern technologies work. In short, the Swedish government have decided to be a leading European power when it comes to spying on people - never mind the integrity breach it brings - and the proposal was voted through yesterday evening after some unusually publicly visible shepherding of party members with doubts who threatened to deviate from the official party views of things.

EDIT: Since it's big enough to go on BBC, I can just as well link it.

And since I've said A, I guess I have to say B too, even if it means me getting political, which is something I try to avoid here. Or maybe it's really more of system criticism than being political, I don't know.

And all this brought to you only because I got astonished hearing my parents discuss something I didn't know they had all that much interest in...

It's multiple election day again and I'm bored, which means political webtests time again.

Warning. Political pic spam behind this link. Well, sort of, at least. )

Politics again. I'm sorry, but it triggered too many of my pet peeves to let it be.

Contempt for the courts? You bet. )

It's not exactly the first time the younger members of my extended family question my habits, but this was kind of, well, odder than usual.

Morning conversations )

And, something totally different, since I said A a while ago, I better say B as well.

Okay, so I guess I should blame this on either being bored or curious. But then, doing these kind of pointless tests has more or less become a tradition by now.

I want my political ideologies well mixed, please )

God help the kingdom of Sweden! (Even if it probably doesn't deserve it.) And now I really hope I get to emigrate before September 2010. And after that date, I think I'll try to pass myself off as a Dane or Norwegian.

Yes, this is a blatantly political entry. Even I have a breaking point.
