1.Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich.
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.
1. Clinton or Obama?
Clinton, mostly because I tend to find Obama a tad too "American" in his behaviour. Too much American preacher politician for my probably European-biased taste. Which is most likely why he was deemed the more popular of the two by the people having the votes. But to be honest I'm not all that oriented on their more political agendas. As usual here it's not the political details that are brought up first in the news.
2. Rosa or Barks?
Hard choice, but in the end I still say Barks due to the fact that his comics were the ones I met first and started to love long before I knew who had made them. True, they are of more varying quality and don't have Rosa's details - in both art and fact research - but they have a playfulness and ingenuity which make the best ones unbeatable. And without Barks' comics there would never have been any Rosa ones.
3. Shoujo y/n?
I'm an all-eater, so shoujo is a part of my diet. Granted, I do have problem with some of the more flowery pink ones, and I still can find them more challenging to follow in their more extreme layout and storytelling variants. And starting my shoujo experience with Utena and Tanemura's Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne meant heavy doses of this. Ouran is the only shoujo manga on my current top 5 list though.
4. When did you start reading manga/get into anime?
Actually not until 2001 surprisingly enough. At least not if we're talking sentient manga reading and anime watching. I did watch the occasional Sailor Moon and Pokémon episodes earlier than that, but that was more random and simply a part of my watching of animated cartoons. As was the Euro-Japanese co-productions from the 1970s. To add to my weirdness, I'm one of probably not all that many who first got interested in Japan and Japanese culture and only after that discovered manga and anime for real.
5. Greatest Swedish musical export after Vikingarna?
I'm known as the "listen to most, remembers little" person when it comes to music, so I don't have much to say here. You mean "after Vikingarna" as in the time period I suppose, which disqualifies a lot, including my childhood favourites Roxette it seems. So I think I say The Cardigans here.
